Places to Photograph in the Lake District
Ullswater: This is one of the most photographed areas in the Lakes. The best time to take photos here is during autumn, in the early morning. You can also get magnificent shots in winter when the mist is gathering over the water. It has a viewpoint which gives an expansive view of the scenery that includes hills, trees, and the lake.
Aira Force: If you love nature and you want to capture a waterfall, then Aira Force is the place for you. This beauty spot has water cascading down a 20-metre fall, and it pours into a small gorge which is below a bridge. It is also the best location to capture a rainbow.
Loweswater: Some of the best photographs have been captured at Loweswater, and the images of the dramatic hills against the sunshine are indescribable. There is also a water body in the area if you want a more scenic feel.
Whitbarrow: The meaning of Whitbarrw is “white hill”. This should give you a basic idea of what the location will provide in terms of photography. It has limestone covered cliffs, and you may need to capture the images when the sun is bright so that you can catch all the exciting details.
Buttermere: The Buttermere pines are some of the most exciting aspects to photograph in the Lake District. This, coupled with the view from the lake, makes it a favourite of most photographers, who are looking for unique things which will make their work stand out. This location also has a waterfall.
